Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Vend VTU ("we", "us" or "our") handles information when you visit our website, create an account, use our app, make a payment or contact support. The public app name is not necessarily the name of the legal entity operating the service. The operator should add its legal name and contact details before relying on this notice.
Information we may handle
Depending on the features you use, we may handle account and profile details such as your name, username, email address and phone number; authentication and account-security records; identity details you choose or are required to submit for verification; wallet, funding, payment, bill-purchase and transaction records; referral or promotional information; messages and attachments you send to support; and technical records such as device, browser, log, security and service-usage information.
We do not ask you to send passwords, transaction PINs, one-time codes or payment-card security codes to support. Do not include them in messages or uploads.
How we use information
We use information as needed to create and secure accounts, provide wallet and service features, process and reconcile payments or purchases, verify identity where required, prevent fraud and abuse, provide customer support, maintain transaction records, communicate important service notices, improve reliability, and meet applicable legal, regulatory and accounting obligations.
Legal grounds
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing may be necessary to provide a service you request or perform a contract; comply with a legal obligation; protect a person or the service from fraud or security threats; pursue a legitimate operational interest that does not override your rights; or act with your consent. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it for future processing, subject to legal or operational limits.
Payments, service providers and sharing
We may share the minimum information needed with payment, banking, identity-verification, telecommunications, utility, hosting, analytics, security and customer-support providers that help operate the service. A provider may process information under its own legal duties and privacy notice. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a lawful business transfer. We do not publish your private account or identity data.
Retention and security
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including account operation, transaction records, dispute handling, security and legal obligations. Retention periods can differ by data type and applicable law. We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, but no website, transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Transfers and processing locations
Some service providers may process information in a country other than the country where you live. Where applicable, we take steps required by law for such transfers and use of service providers.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of or a copy of your personal information; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; or raise a complaint with the relevant privacy regulator. Some records may need to be retained or certain requests limited for legal, security or transaction-integrity reasons. Contact us using the support details published on the Support page to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Where the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 applies, this notice should be read with the rights and obligations provided by that Act and applicable NDPC guidance. Applicability depends on the organization, processing and people concerned; this template does not decide that question for the operator.
Children
The service is not intended for people who are not legally able to use financial or payment services in their location. If you believe a child has provided personal information contrary to applicable requirements, contact support so we can review it.
Changes and contact
We may update this notice when the service or applicable requirements change. The current version is published on this page. For privacy questions or requests, contact the Support page or use Support. The operator should configure a monitored support contact and add any required legal entity, address, privacy contact or regulator details before publishing this policy as final.
Account deletion
You can request account deletion after signing in by opening Settings → Delete account. Submitting the form creates a request for review; it does not immediately erase your account. You may cancel a request while it is awaiting review, using the cancellation option shown in Settings.
If the request is approved and completed, access to the account is disabled and personal profile information is anonymised where permitted. To protect financial records and resolve activity safely, outstanding wallet balances may need to be settled and pending purchases resolved before completion. Transaction, funding, audit and other records may be retained in restricted or anonymised form where needed for legal or regulatory duties, accounting, fraud prevention, ledger integrity or dispute resolution. We do not promise that every record can be erased immediately.
